Private Radio System for Vietnam Hanoi Light Rail
Background
The Jiling-Hedong Line of Hanoi Urban Rail Transit in Vietnam is one of the main lines of Hanoi Urban Rail Transit Network. The line route passes through Dunduo County, Youth County and Hedong County in Hanoi City. The starting point of the line is in the building material market on the south side of the crossroads of Jiling Road and Jiangwu Road in Dongduo County, and ends at the new bus station planned in Hedong County. The route length is about 13KM. The whole line is elevated with 12 stations. A depot covering an area of 26.2 hectares is set up on the whole line. The OCC (Operations Control Center) is set in the depot.


Solution


The private radio system for this project consists of central switching equipment, station and depot base stations, dispatching system, various wireless terminals and antenna feeding systems. The network management system is set up in the OCC to manage, configure the equipment of the whole line system and the wireless users, and monitor and alarm on the faults. A roof-sucking antenna is used to cover the hall, platform and equipment of the whole railway station. Outdoor directional antenna is used to cover the whole line. The roof omnidirectional antenna is used to cover the train operation and operation area of the depot. The hot backup of the key module of the private radio system ensures the stability and reliability of the system. This is the first application of domestic self-developed TETRA system in foreign urban rail transit industry.

The TETRA private radio system independently developed by Eastcom provides reliable communication means for voice and data information exchange between fixed users (operation control center, depot/parking dispatcher, station watchman, etc.) and mobile users (train drivers, disaster recovery personnel, maintenance personnel) operating on Jiling-Hedong Line of Hanoi Rail Transit in Vietnam. It provides an important guarantee for train running safety, improving transportation efficiency and management level, and improving service quality. At the same time, when abnormal conditions occur in rail transit operation and cable communication failures occur, emergency radio communication means for command such as disaster recovery and rescue and accident handling can also be provided quickly.
